Everyone is welcomed at St. Mary’s!
We believe in living our life as Jesus taught us, feeling the gospel values and dreaming of bright futures for all.
St. Mary’s is an outstanding, rural primary school situated in the beautiful surroundings of Claughton-on-Brock, Lancashire.
The school was founded in 1877.
The school and church are at the heart of the local community and some of our children are the second and third generations of their families to attend.
We also welcome children who are new to our community or who live outside Claughton.
There are three classes at St Mary’s: Acorns for the Pre-school and Reception children, Blossoms for our Year 1 and 2 children, and Oaks for the Key Stage 2 children. Our building is well maintained and spacious.
Our outdoor area is spacious and is one of the outstanding features of our school. We have a large playing field which houses an adventure playground, a multi-purpose all-weather pitch, a rewilded forest school area, picnic tables, an outdoor classroom, willow tunnel and a Foundation and Key Stage 1 outdoor learning area. In the corner of our grounds is a beautiful Remembrance Garden, with a school pond; this was created by the local community in 2016.
