St. Mary’s is an outstanding, rural primary school situated in the beautiful surroundings of Claughton-on-Brock, Lancashire. The school was founded in 1877.

The school and church are at the heart of the local community and some of our children are the second and third generations of their families to attend.

We also welcome children who are new to our community or who live outside Claughton; we have our own mini bus to transport children to and from school.

There are two classes at St Mary’s: one for the Foundation/Key Stage 1 children and one for the Key Stage 2 children. Our building is well maintained and spacious; we have two classrooms, a hall and an additional room set up for Early Years continuous provision.

Our outdoor area is spacious and is one of the outstanding features of our school. We have a large playing field which houses and an adventure playground, a multi-purpose all weather pitch, a wildlife area, picnic tables, an outdoor classroom, willow tunnel and a Foundation and Key Stage 1 outdoor learning area. In the corner of our grounds is a beautiful Remembrance Garden, with a school pond; this was created by the local community in 2016.
