As always, it has been another exciting week for the children in school.

‘Surprise Reader’ has started in Acorn Class and nobody knows who the weekly reader will be until they turn up on the day! I love it!
Governors, parents and people we know in the community come in and read their favourite children’s book to the class.

Thank you to our first surprise reader…I wonder who it might be next week?!

Our local police officer came to visit us and tell us all about how to keep safe and how to report a problem. Thank you very much for coming to spend time with us…

Last week, Reception and Year 1 children went to visit Garstang Library and they had a super time listening to stories being read by the librarian. They also learned all about the roles people have in the library and careers within the world of books.

Staying on the reading theme, it has been lovely to welcome Bruce, the reading dog, back into Acorn Class. I am sure his literary skills are far superior to any other dog- this is his second year of working in our school!

Snuggle up Sacks are sent home and the new starters have certainly got the reading buzz

The classroom Curiosity Cave is a real treat and there has been some excellent wiring work and investigating going on. The children used enquiry skills to make a circuit and there are many wonderful things to test out and work out within the cave…

We are very lucky to have such a lovely outdoors environment, where even more exciting learning takes place…

Some baking always goes down well and the children have enjoyed making their own Three Bear Books!

Blossom Class have been learning about maps and creating their own on the playground…

We look forward to seeing you for another exciting week tomorrow.
