WHAT’S PICKLEBALL?

A new sport for St. Mary’s! Working with the World Pickleball Ambassador, Elaine Shallcross, Pickleball has come to Claughton! Pickleball is a mixture of tennis, badminton and table tennis – it is the fastest growing sport in the United States of America. Every Wednesday lunch time, our sports leaders, along with Pickleball enthusiast Mr. Gilmour, welcome all children from Key Stage 2, to learn this new sport. The sport develops physical skills of net and wall games, such as coordination. But, it also develops life skills of care and compassion and respect for others. 50% of the children in Key Stage 2 take part in Pickleball on a weekly basis!
