Welcome to Our School
St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School is a truly special place, set within the beautiful rural surroundings of Claughton-on-Brock, Lancashire. Since our founding in 1877, the school has remained at the very heart of our community, shaped by generations of families who have trusted us with their children’s education.
We are proud to be a school where tradition, care and faith come together. Many of our pupils are the second and third generations of their families to walk through our doors, creating a strong sense of belonging and continuity that is deeply valued.
At St. Mary’s, every child is known, nurtured and supported to flourish—both academically and personally—within a caring, family-centred environment.

Welcome from the Headteacher
“A small school with a big heart.”
Welcome to our school community, where every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish.
As Headteacher, I am incredibly proud of the nurturing environment we provide. We may be a small school, but this allows us to truly understand each child as an individual—supporting their academic success, their personal development and their wellbeing every step of the way.
Our dedicated staff work with care, commitment and high expectations to ensure that all pupils are inspired to achieve their very best. We place equal importance on strong relationships, a rich and engaging curriculum, and the values that underpin everything we do. Pupils here are encouraged to be confident, compassionate and respectful citizens who are ready for the next stage of their journey.
We believe that education is a partnership between school, parents and the wider community. Together, we create a positive and supportive environment where children feel safe, happy and motivated to learn.
I warmly invite you to explore our website and, if possible, visit us to experience first-hand what makes our school such a special place.
